You’ve completed your press outreach, you’ve coordinated the briefings and now all that’s left is to gather up the resulting coverage. Unfortunately, that last step can be a tricky one if you’re not sure how to find all of your news coverage.

So, what is the best way to find and monitor all of your coverage? That is a great question that doesn’t have an easy answer.

Besides the typical Google search options and Google Alerts, there are a number of media coverage monitoring services out there to help you. But choosing, which one is right for you can be a difficult decision.

Our recommendation? Try all of them and find the one that works best for you. Depending on the specific industry you need monitored, there might be a service that catches more coverage, or customizes your searches or reports better than the others. However, do not put “all your eggs in one search basket”. Unless you find a monitoring service that has an actual wizard on staff that can wave his magic wand and produce all the coverage from every possible news outlet, you’re going to need to do some of your own searching too. Voxus has yet to find a monitoring service that finds every single mention, clip or article.

But don’t get discouraged, a monitoring service not only saves you time by scouring the web to find coverage, but it also provides you with multiple different types of detailed reports to help you analyze your coverage and cater your next news announcement and outreach to your target audience.

If you want to make sure to find all the pieces of coverage you’re looking for, continue to do a quick Google search and also keep track of the publications that either expressed interest in the news or were briefed and always do a manual check on their sites.

To help get you started, I’ve listed a few of the major monitoring services below that we’ve tried and enjoy using. All should provide a free trial period and we suggest taking advantage of each and picking the service that catches the most important articles for you.
