It’s hard to believe 10 years ago, Voxus opened its doors in a small office on the shores of Puget Sound in Gig Harbor, Washington. Today, we have significant offices in Seattle and Tacoma, with clients that span the globe in every facet of the tech industry.
I joined Voxus nearly nine years ago, leaving a large PR agency that was part of a multi-billion-dollar media group. Why did I leave such a corporate juggernaut for a scrappy PR agency? One word: culture. And I say it’s worked out pretty well!
Recently we put that culture to the test. To celebrate Voxus’s 10 year anniversary, we squished ourselves and our significant others on board a ferry for a three-hour ride to a couple of nights in Victoria, British Columbia.
With the boat leaving at 7:30 am (customs required everyone arrive at 6:30 am) and employees spread throughout the Puget Sound region, the start of the celebratory trip was a bit slow.
After the slow start, the team acclimated nicely to Victoria. Over the course of three days and two nights, many glasses were raised, golf clubs swung and historic gardens visited.
The trip further reinforced what makes Voxus so great. Although some of the faces have changed over the years, at the core Voxus is a group of tight-knit employees that git ‘er done and have fun doing it. Here’s to a great 10 years at Voxus. And to many more!
